Though it rarely strides gracefully down a runway upon a 5’10” frame, food certainly is fashionable.

As a strong believer in the fact that what you eat ought to also be pretty, I incorporate different elements of what it means to be fashionable in the production of a meal. First is its presentation. This explains my affinity for food photography and the picture presence at this blog. Second, are the different ‘modes’ of cooking. We all assert (admit it!) that not only do we have a good way to make duck confit, tiramisu, the perfect marinara, or grandma style cinnamon rolls; but that our way is the only way. Besides serving up a helping of a potentially polarizing attitude, our competitiveness (like any classic fashion) remains acutely aware and suspicious of trends, as well as obsessed with quality and grace. So let’s explore it together.

My favorite thing about cooking is that it can give you the space to share your love and passions. Making a meal for someone, for me, is one way that I know I can share my love for them. And to make it extra special and beautiful only increases joy around the table.
